Old Memories, Future Hopes

11 Apr

Sometimes a photo evokes a long forgotten memory. In this case I am reminded of a lot of things. Early morning openings to Europe during a crisp fall morning. Late evening openings on 40 Meters to the South Pacific. Long ago, before the easy access for mere mortals to world travel, the minds eye created images and impressions gleaned from contextual exchanges with peoples around the world.  I participated in those exchanges, looked forward with great anticipation to making more and still enjoy the minds eye image of future contest mornings or waking early to the smell of freshly brewed coffee and a surprise opening to some exotic spot. That is the essence of Ham Radio for me. It isnt the working that matters all that much; it is the discovery.
