First new log entries in a while

04 Apr

I don’t know why, but I’ve not been good about keeping my log tidy. For some strange reason I got motivated and added a couple new call signs to the paper log. Earlier this evening I was trying out my new WKUSB Keyer and worked V44KAI in St. Kitts. Not an earth shattering or unique contact by any stretch, but later while getting bored with TV I happened to see a pip on the display up band from my normal haunts and low there was 5N7M at virtually 0200Z. Worked both but was especially nice to see 18 MHz open that late at night. It sort of reminded me of the 1970’s in Phoenix , AZ when we could point our beams over the south pole at local midnight and work into Europe. Those were the days.

Thanks for reading my Blog. Best, Chas W5PG

Hi Chas, well MUF was up to 15 MHz at night here. So soon enough we can work on 17 meter at night. That would be great. 73 Paul
