Today we were greeted with a low of 13 F. In an unto itself, that isn’t bad. However, simultaneously, we were hit with rolling blackouts unannounced. Apparently over night several area power generating stations switched off line causing ERCOT to call for rolling blackouts. So far we have had three or four of limited duration. Anyone with a pool in sub freezing weather knows the hazards. Freeze Guards switch on when temps drop below freezing to keep water flowing and arrest any chances of pipes freezing up. Unannounced power outages toss the fear of someone into a pool owners life when a freeze is accompanied by a power outage. Great fun this ice event.
On a positive note this mornings sked was marvelous. We jumped up to 18 Mhz and it was like landline. That is until the power switched off! Se La Vie….there is always tomorrow. 🙂
