More on CW Practice

14 Mar

As much as I hate recommending a source for Morse Practice on the Internet, which has the added effect of taking possible QSO’s off the air, this one may have some positive use. While I was hunting for the end of the Internet on Saturday morning I happened across this site that streams CNN News via various speed Morse streams out over the Net. I believe there is also ARRL Code Practice sessions streamed as well. If for no other reason, this is a good source of Morse to record to an mp3 file and uploaded to your Ipod or other mp3 player for practice while walking around getting that exercise we all need and do religiously. Well, perhaps semi-religiously….It saves the converting step I used to have to do to get mp3 files of Morse onto my mp3 player. Anything to get me to do exercise…..

Don’t forget to have a listen today for KSM Maritime Radio at Point Reyes California. You can find the transmitter schedule on this site. You can copy press rtty or sea state conditions and press via Morse on one or more of KSM’s HF frequencies. They generally are on air from 18 Zulu or thereabouts to later in the afternoon. It is always nice to send a listening report to the station.

Thanks for reading my Blog. Best, Chas W5PG
